Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest celebrity to be handed a golden residency visa in the UAE. The UAE Cabinet announced earlier in the month, that promising athletes in the UAE would be eligible for gold visas after the approval of its new residency scheme on Sunday, February 2.
However, very few would have put Cristiano Ronaldo on the list to benefit from the Gold Card initiative. The move comes within the cabinet’s decision to grant a package to long-term visas, as well as confirm the position of the state as the ideal incubator for scientists, creators, and entrepreneurs.
Ronaldo has achieved many remarkable records in his career such as scoring over 700 goals in more than 1,000 appearances amongst others.
It has been established that Cristiano Ronaldo has a strong relationship with Dubai and like other sportsmen, he visits the emirate occasionally for his annual vacations. He has also taken part in many Dubai-based events in the past.
