Ahead of the FA Cup clash between Arsenal and Manchester United on Friday evening, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has disclosed that he was not surprised by Man United’s sacking of former boss Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho was relieved of his managerial duties at Old Trafford in December 2018 as Man United were dropping down the table and slipping away from a place in the top 4.

However, new caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have revived the Red Devils as he has won all 7 games since he took charge at Old Trafford, and has brought Man United within 3 points of a place in the top 4.

Unai Emery said: “I was not surprised because this team has big players and can think about winning the Premier League”

“They can be in the position to win the league, but the reality is they have lost a lot of points this season.

“Now, they are very dangerous and in a good moment. I don’t know why but this team is different and they are playing with more confidence.”

Man United’s current run under Solskjaer has seen them level on points with Arsenal who are fifth on the log. The recent change in fortunes has put the former United player in good stead for the permanent role at the end of the season if the current run and performances are maintained.
