It appears that Anthony Martial is fed up with life at Manchester United and has reportedly told new boss Ralf Rangnick that he wants to leave. However, reports suggest that the Red Devils have rejected a loan offer from Sevilla for the Frenchman.
Martial wants more playing time and is intent on finding it elsewhere. Sevilla are interested and made an offer to pay half of his wages in a six-month loan deal but United are not willing to accept the offer.
Martial arrived from Monaco to Man United with lots of promise but has become more of a fringe player in recent years. He has started just 2 Premier League games this season and has only 4 in all competitions thus far.
Rangnick revealed the player’s desire to leave last week, attracting the likes of Sevilla and Newcastle who have been strongly linked with a move for Martial. However, he will only be allowed to leave if the club receive the right offer.
“We spoke at length on Wednesday,” said Rangnick last week.
“He explained to me he’s been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it’s the right time for a change, to go somewhere else.
“I think in a way this is understandable, I could follow his thoughts but on the other hand, it’s also important to see the situation of the club.
“We have Covid times, we have three competitions in which we still have high ambitions and want to be as successful as we can be.”
In his six years at Manchester United, Martial has played his part in 1 FA Cup win, 1 League Cup, and the Europa League. He has scored 79 goals in 268 appearances for the Red Devils thus far.
The Frenchman has been inconsistent in a United shirt and the club are willing to cash in on the player who is currently in his prime and could slap a considerable transfer fee on him.
