West ham eye January move for Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud has been very impressive for Chelsea this term and I bet that no one thought he would be this influential in the side after the acquisitions that were made by the Blues this summer.

The veteran forward is attracting interest from neighbors West Ham and they will try to sign him in January according to reports.

The Hammers have been decent thus far this season under David Moyes, although their striking department has left more to be desired.

Haller has been struggling since he made the move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019. The forward has failed to live up to expectation with Michail Antonio currently on the sidelines. Haller has scored just 2 goals in 11 games.

According to the Mirror, the Hammers have identified Chelsea as where they will go for striking reinforcement with Giroud sounded out as a major target in the January transfer window.

Giroud has proven that he still has it despite his age and has delivered for the Blues when called upon this term. He has forced his way up the pecking order and is now battling for a starting berth with Tammy Abraham.

Meanwhile. Lampard wants the Frenchman to remain at Chelsea, although he has insisted that he will only settle for regular football and nothing less to enhance his chances of representing France ahead of Euro 2020 next summer.

Tammy Abraham was preferred over Giroud in Chelsea’s last Premier League game against West Ham at Stamford Bridge in which the Blues ran out 3 nil winners with Abraham grabbing a brace.

Lampard will have to choose one of them to lead the line against Arsenal on boxing day.

Regardless, speculations continue to mount over the France international’s future at Stamford Bridge as January approaches, and Chelsea may be tempted to cash in on him that let him leave on a free transfer.
