Alba – Luis Suarez was a gift from Barca to Atletico Madrid

Ahead of the Euro 2020 competition, Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has spoken about the challenges that the Spanish national team camp is currently facing after Sergio Busquets tested positive for coronavirus. He also revealed his thoughts about Barca manager Ronald Koman and spoke about the just-concluded season. He made his thoughts known in a chat during the Cadena SER’s El Larguero program with anecdotes about Lionel Messi and his potential exit from Camp Nou.  The defender also spoke about the decision to allow Luis Suarez to join Atletico Madrid, one which was heavily regretted in the 2020/21 season as he helped fire the Rojiblancos to the title. Reports suggest that Luis Suarez was the subject of a funny transfer decision, as the former board of the club unceremoniously let ...

PSG Chief – All clubs have the right to talk about Lionel Messi

In an interview with L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi has revealed Barcelona's pursuit of Neymar as well his club's links with Lionel Messi who has been a central figure in one of the most talked-about transfer sagas in the history of the game. It can be recalled that the Argentine wizard was set to leave Barcelona at the end of the 2019/20 season after the infamous burofax incident. However, after a season of transition in 2020/21, Messi's love for the club seems to have been reignited. PSG were in pole position for the Argentine's signature when the exit rumors heightened after his contract ends on June 30. It was even reported that the Ligue 1 giants who ended up as runners-up in France for the 2020/21 season offered him a contract a few weeks ago. REA...

Barca are open to offers for Antoine Griezmann

Reports suggest that Barcelona are open to offers for Antoine Griezmann this summer. It can be recalled that the France international joined the Catalans from rivals Atletico Madrid in 2019. He struggled in his start to life at Camp Nou but has rediscovered some of his best form in recent times under Dutch manager Ronald Koeman. The club are pleased with the 30-year-old's performances but a debt of close to £1billion means that there will be difficulty in strengthening the team this summer without first raising funds from the sale of players. Presently, Griezmann is one of Barca's prized assets and the Frenchman won't be short of suitors, especially in England, if Barcelona put him up for sale. McTominay – Lionel Messi snubbed my shirt request

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has revealed that he almost missed out on the chance to get Lionel Messi's shirt after the Barcelona star initially refused to give it to him. The two players faced off twice in the quarterfinals of the 2019 UEFA Champions League where the Catalans ran out 4 nil winners on aggregate with Lionel Messi scoring a brace at Camp Nou in a game the Catalans dominated wholly. It can be recalled that an own goal by Luke Shaw was what separated the sides after the first leg at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, McTominay had asked his teammate and Argentina international Sergio Romero to try and get him the shirt of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner. However, the goalkeeper returned to the dressing room empty-handed as Messi refused to hand over his shit bec...

Will PSG replace Barcelona on the world stage?

Au revoir Barcelona It appears the times are changing in the world of football. Fading are the days of Barcelona’s dominance and a new group of teams looks set to replace them. One of those teams is last season’s Champions League runners-up, Paris Saint-Germain. They conquered the Catalan side in impressive fashion with a 4–1 victory at the Nou Camp, followed by a 1–1 draw in Paris. Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show, with a hat-trick in the first leg, along with a successfully converted penalty in the second. Lionel Messi led his Barca side as best as he could by scoring the penalty in the first game, smashing in a long-range strike in the return fixture, before his 2nd penalty of the round was saved by Keylor Navas. Looking at PSG’s Champions League form from last season ...

Paredes – PSG told me not to talk about Messi

It is no more news that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have not hidden their desire to have Barcelona forward Lionel Messi in their ranks. The Argentine's contract at the Camp Nou expires in the summer and PSG is one of his likely destinations if he doesn't commit to the Catalans. However, recent developments show that PSG have decided to put a gag order on their players to stop them from discussing a possible transfer for the Barcelona legend. It can be recalled that other PSG stars like Angel di Maria and Neymar openly stated that they would like to have Messi join them at the Parc des Princes. A report by Marca, stated that...

Barca’s resilience at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes

Let's talk about the cracker at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes on Wednesday night that saw Granada lose a two-goal lead in the dying minutes of the game and end up being eliminated from the quarter-finals of the 2020/21 Copa Del Rey by Barcelona. It was arguably one of the craziest games of the season and it seemed crazy when Samuel Umtiti was caught napping and caressing the ball just outside the 18-yard box. The France international was dispossessed after a poor clearance and this resulted in the first goal of the night for the home side by Kenedy. The current season has seen the Blaugrana go through many ups and downs and this seemed like one of those downs, and possibly a farewell to silverware when Roberto Soldado doubled the lead for the home side. Messi tired of being blamed for mishaps at Barcelona

Both players combined excellently in Barca's final game before the international break as Messi's dummy helped set up a goal for the French forward. Regardless, the Argentine's latest comments will only serve to increase speculation of ...
