Calvin Chinedu Bassey, a Nigerian professional football player whose birth name is Calvin Chinedu Ughelumba, was born on December 31, 1999, in Aosta, Italy.

Calvin Bassey started his football career at Leicester City. He joined the club at the age of 15 after a successful trial. At Leicester City, Bassey worked hard and progressed through the club’s youth ranks, having played regularly for the under-18 and under-23 teams.

In June 2020, Bassey signed a pre-contract with Rangers, a top club in Scotland. He officially joined Rangers when the summer transfer window opened in July 2020.

Bassey made his professional debut for Rangers on 9 August 2020 in a Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren.

He came on as a substitute and helped his team secure a 3-0 victory. During his time at Rangers, Bassey scored his first and only goal for the club in a 4-0 win against Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup.

Bassey played an important part for Rangers in their journey to the 2022 UEFA Europa League Final, although they lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt.

On 28 July 2023, Bassey continued his career, joining Fulham in the Premier League. Fulham signed Bassey on a four-year deal, paying Ajax a transfer fee of €21 million.
