The 2021/22 season should be Arteta’s last chance at Arsenal

Arsenal missed out on a place in Europe for the first time in 26 years under Mikel Arteta in the 2020/21 season. The season was a mixed one for the Gunners who blew hot and cold at various stages of the season but eventually ended their domestic season on a high. They failed to make it into Europe via the Premier League as they finished 8th on the log with 61 points, 1 point off a place in the Europa Conference League, 4 points off the Europa League places, and 6 points off the top 4. They were looking good to make it to next season's UCL via the Europa League but were knocked out in the semis by eventual winners Villareal. Regardless, Mikel Arteta continues to divide the opinions of Arsenal fans as some believe he is the ideal man for the job while others are convinced he is way ...

Arteta – Some Arsenal players have not given their best

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that some of his players have not given their best for the club's cause this season and admitted that most of them have also reached their limit. This is coming as Arsenal are facing a season without European football in 25 years. The Gunners no longer have their destiny in their hands and will rely on Tottenham who sit seventh on the log to falter whilst they attempt to overhaul the current 4 points gap with just three games to go. Any slip by Spurs and an overtaking on the log by Arsenal will see them participate in the Europa Conference League, which has been described as UEFA's third-tier club competition. Meanwhile, Arteta has previously stated that an overhaul of the team is on the cards in the summer after his first full season as Ar...

Arsenal’s difficult players warned they’ll be axed under Arteta

Mikel Arteta's former Everton teammate Alan Stubbs has revealed that the Spaniard is ruthless and won't hesitate to deal with the big personalities at Arsenal. He said that any player that disrespects the soon-to-be Arsenal boss won't stay long at the Emirates. The Spaniard is poised to become the new manager at the Emirates where he played under Arsene Wenger between 2011 and 2016. He will be taking over fellow Spaniard Unai Emery's hot seat who was sacked last month. Arteta spent six years at Everton before making the move to Arsenal and Alan Stubbs has stated that he has his ruthless side which many are not aware of. In a chat with talkSPORT, Stubbs said: "He’s got an opinion, he had that as a player"  "He wasn’t afraid to say something if things weren’t right on the pitch ...

Patrick Vieira Says He’s Ready to Coach in Europe

Former Arsenal great Patrick Vieira broke into the coaching ranks a few seasons ago with New York City Football Club of MLS, but the Frenchman says he is now ready to take the next step. In an interview with The Times, Vieira said that he is now ready to coach “any side in Europe.” Vieira was linked to the soon-to-be vacant Arsenal post as soon as Arsene Wenger announced that this would be his final season at the Emirates last week. The former player said that he has not heard from anybody at the club regarding the job, however, and that it would be difficult for him to leave his current job at NYCFC. Vieira said, “It’s an honour to be mentioned with Arsenal. It was somewhere I spent nine years and I love the club. I played my best football there and made my name in the game. I am al...
