According to reports. Schalke players may play no part in the rest of the Bundesliga season after the club was relegated from the German top flight.  The issue is not even the relegation but the reaction of the club's fans to the relegation as there were frightening fan protests which resulted in the team being attacked by its supporters. Peter Knable, an executive at the club disclosed that the club would listen to its players and respect their individual decisions after up to 600 fans converged outside the Veltins Arena in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Coman ready to fight for place if Bayern sign Sane

Kingsley Coman has revealed he will have no problem if Bayern Munich sign Germany international Leroy Sane from Manchester City this summer, and has vowed to fight for his place in the team. Sane has been continually linked with a move to Bayern Munich over the past year and the speculation is heightening as the summer transfer window approaches. The two clubs reportedly reached an advanced stage in talks last week although a final deal is yet to be agreed as the Citizens are insisting on a fee in the region of €70 million. If a deal is agreed and the move materializes, Leroy Sane will be expected to feature on the left-wing in Hansi Flick's team. Infantino – Bundesliga players should not be punished for protests

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has voiced his opinion on the debate concerning the protest of Bundesliga players against the death of George Floyd during matches. He insisted that the players should instead be applauded for showing support. It can be recalled that England international and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho received a booking for taking off his jersey during a Bundesliga match to display a T-shirt emblazoned with 'Justice for George Floyd' His teammates Achraf Hakimi and Schalke midfielder Weston McKennie displayed the same messages on their bodies during the weekend in what was a technical breach of the laws of the game. This resulted in the German Federation's consideration of a disciplinary case although they expressed pride in their actions. READ: Chels...

Could the Bundesliga have newfound popularity amongst footballer lovers?

It was reported that over a billion people watched the resumption of the Bundesliga when Borussia Dortmund took on Schalke on May 16. First things first, even if the Bundesliga was the only football around the globe available to watch on the telly, it was hardly like anything we had ever seen before. Eerie stadiums and echoed shouts greeted football fans from across the globe and in many respects, a lot of fans were left feeling rather numb. The peculiarity of that opening weekend carried on when the Bavarians made their way to the nation's capital to do b...

What has happened to Schalke 04?

The Bundesliga has been fun thus far with a good number of the prestigious teams doing well enough. However, one team stands out and has been exceptionally poor this season, and its Schalke 04. One question that is begging for an answer is this; What is wrong with Schalke 04 under David Wagner? The Royal Blues have been very poor this season! They were struggling before football was halted and one expected them to come back with a new lease of life on the return of the Bundesliga. However, they appear to have grown worse based on recent results. They are not the worst team on paper in the Bundesliga, therefore, this is a cause for concern as manager David Wagner's job could also be on the line if fortunes don't turn for good. It’s a fierce fight for the UCL places in the Bundesliga

The last round of matches in the Bundesliga only served to complicate the race for qualification to next season's UEFA Champions League competition as some teams unexpectedly faltered to their detriment. The defending champions Bayern Munich could be the only team that won't be embroiled in this battle unless their fortunes change for the worst. They lead the table with a 7 points difference, and the sides below them, I daresay have proven that the points gap is insurmountable based on their inconsistencies with six games left to play.
