CAS orders Milan’s Rafael Leao to pay Sporting €16.5m in damages

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has been ordered to pay €16.5 million to former side Sporting Club for the unilateral termination of his contract in 2018. The ruling was made by Portugal's Court of Arbitration for Sport -- Tribunal Arbitral do Desporto (TAS). They also ordered the club to make a payment of €40,000 to Leao for the practice of moral siege. Sporting initially requested for a €45m compensation while the Portuguese forward had demanded a payment of 100,000 in damages. On May 15, 2018, members of the Sporting team with players, staff, and personnel inclusive were attacked at their academy by a group of 40 persons claiming to be supporters. CAS confirms Chelsea appeal against two-window transfer ban

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have provided confirmation that Chelsea have appealed their transfer ban which is set to stand for two transfer windows. The Blues were hit with the punishment by FIFA after being found to have broken rules regarding the registration of young players. Chelsea had initially appealed against the ban to FIFA to have it overturned with regards to the registration of senior players but saw their appeal rejected by football's governing body. Therefore, the Premier League club have now turned to CAS who have the power to overturn or delay the ban as evidence is gathered. This will allow Chelsea to sign players this summer.   According to reports, Morocco will be looking to persuade authorities to give Alaves attacker Munir El-Haddadi the approval to switch his allegiance from Spain.
