Arteta calls for VAR to be introduced in the Europa League

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called for VAR to be introduced to the Europa League. His side beat Molde 4:1 on Thursday night to maintain their 100% start in the competition but the Spaniard was forced to question an awful offside call against Eddie Nketiah. The Norwegians took the lead in the game against all odds via a long-range effort from Martin Ellingsen before a goal by Nketiah from a Nicolas Pepe cross was chalked off after the assistant raised his flag. Replays of the incident showed that Nketiah was at least a yard onside. However, due to the absence of VAR, the goal was ruled out. Arsenal bounced back with goals from Kristoffer Haugen and Sheriff Sinya before Pepe and Willock capped it off with fine finishes. Regardless, Arteta was not pleased with UEFA's decision...

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took to Twitter to hail youngster Bukato Saka for his man of the match performance in the 3 nil rout of Eintracht Frankfurt away from home in the Europa League on Thursday night. The 18-year-old was involved in all 3 goals scored by the Gunners on the night. Arsenal opened the scoring on the night through Joe Willock in the first half, before Aubameyang and Saka added 2 more goals in the closing minutes of the game.
