United show title credentials by going top of the Premier League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have gone top of the Premier League with 17 games played and this, I can daresay was not envisaged by many folks at this stage of the season, even amongst Man United fans. They beat Burnley 1 nil at Turf Moor in their outstanding match on Tuesday night through a goal by Paul Pogba and this pushed them to the summit of the Premier League table. The Red Devils started the season on an average note with a terrible form at home in the Premier League while they were ruthless away from home. However, in recent months they've found a solution to the poor form at Old Trafford and have won 4 and drawn 1 of the last 5 games at home. Their away form remains flawless with 7 wins and 1 draw in 8 games and has no doubt contributed to their current position at the t...

Solskjaer – Silverware can convince Pogba to stay

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed in a chat with ESPN that his squad can also play their part in convincing Paul Pogba to stay put at Old Trafford by proving that they can win trophies. The Frenchman's agent Mino Raiola has publicly stated that his client wants to leave Manchester United next summer or when his current contract runs out in 2022. Solskjaer described Pogba as an ambitious player and stated that he can win trophies with him. The Frenchman has already been linked with the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid. "There's always a demand at Man United to win trophies and the more you win trophies, the more players are going to want to play for us and then there's a higher standard you've got to set yourself," Solskjaer said in an interview with ESPN. Villa and Spurs on the beat with biggest PL Matchday 4 shockers

No one saw Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur putting six past Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's Manchester United or Dean Smith's Aston Villa putting seven past defending champions Liverpool. However, this was the case in the last two games on Matchday 4 of the 2020/21 Premier League season. This season hasn't been short of goals with lots of goals being scored thus far and shocking upsets being mounted too. Who would have thought that Everton and Aston Villa would be the only two teams with a 100% record at this point in the season? It's still early days but Carlo Ancelotti and Dean Smith deserve some credit for the performance of their teams thus far. Luke Shaw tips unstoppable team-mate for Ballon d’Or

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has opined that there is no reason why team-mate Marcus Rahsford can't go on to win the Ballon d'Or as he has been unstoppable this season. Marcus Rashford has scored 14 Premier League goals for the Red Devils this season and has 19 in all competitions thus far. This is his best season for the club since he came to limelight at Old Trafford. Although he has not been in action since January due to a back injury, he's now fit and ready to play when the Premier League returns next week, with United traveling to face Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, 19 June. Luke Shaw revealed how impressed he was with the 22-year-old forward and feels that if he continues consistently at his rate of progression, he can end up winning the top individual prize of the g...

Tough times under Mourinho made Rashford a better player

Man United striker Marcus Rashford says he endured a tough period under former manager Jose Mourinho but pointed out that the experience under the Portuguese manager made him a better player. Mourinho managed Man United from the summer of 2016 to December 2018, emerging victoriously with the club in the Europa League and League Cup in his first season as United boss. Marcus Rashford scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists under Mourinho but struggled for consistency, as he was often deployed on the right flank to accommodate the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku in the middle.
