Rio Ferdinand asks Lingard to leave Man United

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has insisted that Jesse Lingard needs to leave the Red Devils as he is too good to play second fiddle. The Englishman made a loan move to West Ham in January after falling out-of-favor at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since his move to the Hammers, Lingard has been very impressive and has made an immediate impact. He will be with the London outfit until the end of the 2020/21 season but Ferdinand has advised that he has to close the chapter on his United career and move elsewhere. 'I spoke before about this and said I thought Jesse should close a chapter on Man United because he hasn't been a part of the squad, he hasn't been a part of the team for ages,' Ferdinand told his FIVE YouTube channel. UCL – PSG must be wary after walloping Barca in the first leg

The talking point from the first set of games of the round of 16 of the ongoing 2020/21 UEFA Champions League was the shock 4:1 thrashing of Barcelona by Paris Saint-Germain at Camp Nou on Tuesday night. The Catalans may not be at their best in recent times but no one envisaged them being battered by a PSG side that have also flattered to deceive in the past, especially in the UCL. And more so, by the fact that Barca opened the scoring on the night. It's no more news that PSG are currently being managed by Mauricio Pochettino and thus, seem under the best of hands currently. However, his inexperience in the competition can also make room for possible shocks in the return leg. I don't believe that Barcelona can come up with any surprises at Parc Des Princes except to receive anothe...

Memorable Manchester United comebacks in history

It's no more news that Manchester United have been impressive in the Premier League this season. The Red Devils are currently second on the table, having secured 46 points from 24 matches so far. The Red Devils recently claimed an emphatic victory against Southampton, with the Manchester side destroying their opponents by an unbelievable 9-0 score-line. However, the highflying Premier League side have failed to take full points against Everton and West Ham since then and this has dampened the festive mood around Old Trafford. Even though Manchester City are 10 points clear at the top, many still believe that Manchester United can win the league title this season. If you also think so, then it is a good opportunity to avail the bet9ja promo 2021 and place your bets on the Red Devil...

Chelsea: The Positives and Negatives Against Newcastle Under Tuchel

Top four spot, a goal for Timo Werner, and a rare clean sheet for Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea moved above Liverpool and into the top four for the first time in more than three months with a 2-0 win over Newcastle. It was their fourth straight win under new manager Thomas Tuchel. It was an important win, albeit against a team placed at the bottom half of the league standings. Questions will be asked regarding Chelsea’s chances of remaining top four at the end of the season. It will be an exciting prospect for UEFA Champions League betting as all the top ten sides have a chance to make it into the top four. The Positives The most important statistic is that Tuchel’s side picked all three points, but there were some notable positives to take home. The most expensive goalkeeper Ke...

City are unstoppable and are overwhelming favorites for PL title

It appears the title race for defending champions Liverpool is as good as over with three consecutive losses in the Premier League. The current league leaders Manchester City are also on fire and currently lead the Reds with 13 points, with a game in hand. The Reds started out like a house on fire whilst the Citizens were faltering with some shock losses and results early in the season. Critics were satisfied and happy with Man City's struggles amid suggestions that the Premier League cannot be conquered by Pep Guardiola. There were suggestions that the Spaniard had been found out and would eventually leave England on a low. However, Pep Guardiola has other plans and was working on a solution for his side all the while. The Citizens have been unstoppable in recent months with 5 ho...

Tuchel – Chelsea still have a long way to go

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said that his side still has a long way to go to achieve their targets for the season after making it back into the top four with the 2 nil Premier League win over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. Since the German replaced Frank Lampard at the Blues' managerial helm, the Blues have gotten 13 points from a possible 15 in five Premier League games. His start can be compared to that of Jose Mourinho before he made the Blues champions of England. Only Carlo Ancelotti and Maurizio Sarri have started better than Tuchel. Regardless, the German has stated that finishing in the top 4 for the season for qualification to next season's UEFA Champions League remains the target. "There are many teams behind us, chasing us but, yes, we had many ...

PSG’s new Messi wants to join Tuchel at Chelsea

Chelsea may be the dream destination for Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Kays Ruiz-Atil, who has been described as the French club's new Lionel Messi.  A report by Foot Mercato suggests that the London club may be working on acquiring the youngster after the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the new boss. It is believed that the teenager has had playing time difficult to come by under new PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and has expressed his desire to play for Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea.  It was the German boss that handed the youngster his first senior team debut at Parc des Princes. Ruiz-Atil has potentials but his uncertain future at the French club is a concern and a meeting between his representatives and Chelsea may take place soon.  The 18-year-old hasn't played any game for th...

United stars don’t trust van de Beek, claims Hughes

Man United legend Mark Hughes has stated that the club's players do not trust summer signing Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman who joined from Ajax in a deal worth £40million was handed his 11th start of the season as the Red Devils toiled to progress to the next stage of the FA Cup with a 1 nil victory against West Ham at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Van de Beek has struggled to shine for the Red Devils this season and has just 1 goal and 1 assist in 25 appearances. This was the case again as he was ineffective against David Moyes' men throughout his stay on the pitch before being replaced by Bruno Fernandes in the 73rd minute. Mark Hughes, in a chat with talkSPORT, made his opinions on the state of the player at the club known: 'You just sense… it looks like they don't trust ...

Klopp is frustrated with Liverpool’s transfer policy

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly growing frustrated with the club's owners FSG and their transfer policy after they refused to okay a January move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. The Reds have suffered a crisis in defense this season and it has contributed to their recent struggles and hampered their chances of defending their title. The likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip may not play any part in the ongoing season. The Reds chose to make moves for Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in cut-price deadline day deals last month although none have played for the Reds since their arrival amid home defeats to Brighton and Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp is not happy that his request for Koulibaly was snubbed and this has been made known in a report by The Sun. A...

Ziyech reveals a difficult start to life at Chelsea

Hakim Ziyech had been lighting up the Eredivisie for some seasons with Ajax before Chelsea made the move for the versatile midfielder. The Morocco international was expected to hit the ground running on his arrival at Stamford Bridge but this hasn't been the case. The story is the same for most of Chelsea's new recruits ahead of the 2020/21 season. It can be recalled that Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in a deal worth £36m but has not hit the ground running as expected. He has now opened up about his struggles at the club since his arrival. Ziyech, 27, had a knee injury and made his first start for the Blues under Frank Lampard last October. Since then, he has started just 8 Premier League matches but is confident that he can fulfill his potential at the club. “It was a diffic...
