The top 3 exceptional sides in the Euro 2020 group stages

The Euro 2020 competition has been interesting thus far as some of the supposed big sides and favorites for the trophy have shown up in style. However, some have been flattering to deceive with the last round of group games to go.

Action returns to Group D, E, and F in the coming days to decide the last set of teams that will make it to the next stage of the competition.

Regardless, out of all the teams participating, just three have been able to amass maximum points from their group fixtures.

These 100 percenters have been very impressive in the competition although it was initially believed that they would receive some run for their money by other sides in their groups. However, this was not the case as they came out tops from all their group games.

Seeing how the other sides have turned up in the competition thus far, it comes as no surprise that these teams will be referred to as favorites for the Euros going forward.

In Group A, Italy under Roberto Mancini have been exceptional with a defensive line that is yet to be breached after three games.

The likes of group runners-up Wales, Switzerland, and Turkey could not score a goal against the Italians and they proceed to the next stage with a 100% record and no goal conceded. Meanwhile, they found the back of the net 7 times.

In Group B, Belgium were also too good for their group opponents, winning all 3 games and conceding just 1 goal.

They also scored 7 goals as the likes of Denmark, Finland, and Russia couldn’t answer the questions posed over 3 games by Roberto Martinez’s men.

The Belgians were major favorites going into the competition and have proven that the tag on them was no fluke.

Another exceptional side in the group stage have been the Dutch team under Frank de Boer. They’ve scored the most goals in the competition thus far with 8 to their name and have conceded just 2. They eased past the likes of Austria, Ukraine, and whipping boys North Macedonia.

These three teams are the only teams who’ll amass the maximum points with a 100 percent record from the group stage of Euro 2020 as the remaining group games conclude in the coming days.

We look forward to the knockout stages to see how well they perform, and if they can go all the way after a 100% record in the group stages of Euro 2020.
