Top 5 Highest Paid

1. Luke Plange

Luke Plange, a promising young football talent, has won the attention of fans as he joins Carlisle United for the 2023/2024 season.

From Arsenal’s youth academy from the tender age of 6, Plange embarked on his professional career when he moved to Derby County in March 2021.

His debut for Derby County on December 4, 2021, was an important part of his career when he came on as a halftime substitute in an EFL Championship match against Bristol City.

In January 2022, Plange signed with Crystal Palace and was then loaned back to Derby County for the remainder of the season.

He was loaned to the Belgian club RWD Molenbeek for the 2022/23 season, along with teammate Jake O’Brien.

However, in January 2023, Plange was recalled by Crystal Palace from his Belgian loan and promptly sent on loan to Lincoln City for the rest of the season.

Now, in August 2023, Carlisle United has secured the services of this emerging talent, signing Plange on a half-season-long loan.

2. Samuel Lavelle

Samuel Lavelle has had an impressive career leading him to Carlisle United F.C. for the 2023/2024 season. He started his career with Blackburn Rovers but left in 2016.

After that, he had a stint at Bolton Wanderers, but they couldn’t keep him due to some transfer issues. In 2017, Lavelle moved to Morecambe, and over time, he became the team’s captain.

He even helped Morecambe secure a promotion to League One in May 2021 making him a club legend in the eyes of many fans.

However, In August 2021, he signed with Charlton Athletic, and he scored his first goal for them in September. Then again, a loan spell at Burton Albion in January 2023 was cut short due to a shoulder injury, leading him back to Charlton for recovery. This season, Samuel Lavelle joined Carlisle United. It’s a fresh start for the talented player.

3. Callum Guy

I saw one of the best of Guy’s in the 2020-21 season after recording 47 appearances and leading the League Two in assists.

With his incredible performance, he became a fan favorite. Also earned him the Carlisle United Player of the Year award and Player of the Year accolade.

Then he was appointed club captain. Despite interest from other clubs, he extended his stay until summer 2023. However, injuries continued to challenge his progress, and he was sidelined for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.

In March 2023, Guy signed a new two-year deal. In the 2022-23 season, he registered 52 appearances and scored crucial goals. He has just been fantastic for me.

4. Joshua Kayode

Joshua Kayode is one of the top-paid players at Carlisle United F.C. for the 2023/2024 season. Over the years, Joshua went on several loans to gain experience.

He spent time with teams like Chesterfield and Gateshead before sealing a loan move to Carlisle United for the 2019-20 season.

He returned for another loan spell in August 2020, and during his time with Carlisle, he committed to Rotherham United until 2023-24.

5. Joe Garner

Back in 2007, Garner arrived on loan and was impressed. However, not all moments were superb, as he received a red card for diving in a game against Huddersfield Town.

Despite some initial hesitation from Blackburn Rovers, Garner made a permanent move to Carlisle United in August 2007, setting a club record with a transfer fee of £140,000 (which could potentially rise to £150,000 if the team earned promotion to the Championship).

Even Scottish Premier League side Dundee United was interested in signing him. In 2023, Carlisle welcomed Garner back as he signed an eighteen-month deal in January, making him one of the highest-paid In the team.
