According to reports, Brazilian attacker Douglas Costa has completed a move to Serie A giants Juventus after arriving in Turin on Wednesday. Simon Jones from MailOnline disclosed that the Brazilian will put pen to paper to join Juventus from Bayern on an initial loan deal which is to cost around £5 million but could rise to £35 million if the deal is made permanent.
Douglas Costa received a welcome message by Bayern’s former center back Mehdi Benatia on Twitter. The move would bring an end to Douglas Costa’s two seasons at the Allianz Arena after his £21 million move from Ukranian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2015.
According to Bayern Chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the two clubs were in intensive talks to work out a deal that would see Douglas Costa move to Turin according to ESPN.co.uk’s Ben Gladwell: “We are in negotiations and I would say these are positive and very serious, but I cannot say it is a done deal today.”
Bayern had earlier agreed a deal to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two-year loan speel and this may have deemed Costa surplus to requirements for the Bundesliga champions.
