Stoke City have emerged as favorites to acquire the services of Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on a loan deal after talks that ended on a positive note were reportedly held by the two clubs on Wednesday.
Zouma according to reports is expected to sign a new deal that has been offered to him by Chelsea and will be subsequently loaned out. It is understood that Stoke City are set and prepared to cater for all his wages.
The Frenchman is attracting interest from various clubs, including West Brom who have also expressed interest in taking the young defender on loan for next season. However, Mark Hughes is in the front line to secure the services of the defender.
Zouma made the move to Chelsea from Saint-Etienne in January 2014 but remained with the French outfit on loan for the remainder of the season. He then went on to win the Premier League title as well as the League Cup with Chelsea the following season.
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Man United that excluded him from first team action for 11 months but made a return as Chelsea emerged as Premier League Champions under Italian manager Antonio Conte
