Reports were rife that Inter Milan’s move for Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella was almost done with the Nerazzurri waiting for the right time to conclude the deal.
However, reports from Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport suggest that local rivals AC Milan have entered the race to sign the midfielder.
Regardless, Inter are still advantaged, as they’ve already reached an agreement with the player’s agent and are currently locked in negotiations with Cagliari.
Cagliari value Nicolo Barella at 50 million euros and are ready to accept technical counterparts in the deal.
Meanwhile, this has done very little to discourage AC Milan who are yet to announce a sporting director as they await Giampaolo’s release from his Sampdoria contract.
AC Milan are trying to scupper the deal for Inter Milan and are willing to offer Patrick Cutrone plus cash to secure the move for Barella.
