Adama Traore was approached by NFL teams

Romain Saiss has revealed that his Wolverhampton Wanderers teammate Adama Traore was approached by NFL teams to play American football when he was at Barcelona.

The winger has been impressive for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season having scored 4 goals and provided many assists thus far. This season is turning to a breakout season for the Spanish youth international after struggling during spells at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough after leaving Barcelona.

His current tally of 5 goals in all competitions is just two fewer than the number he scored in his first four seasons in England. Meanwhile, his pace and physique have been making headlines as he’s being linked with a host of clubs.

In a bid to confirm Traore’s claim that he doesn’t engage in weightlifting in training, Saiss said the Spaniard was previously the subject of interest from some franchises in the NFL.

“I see him every day, because we are in the gym together, before or after training,” Saiss told RMC Sport.

“Maybe he has a hidden gym room in his house, but at training, in any case, he never pumps iron, whether it is bench-press or otherwise. He is huge and very quick.

“I remember saying to him: ‘You run like an American footballer’.

He responded that some NFL teams tried to get him playing American football instead. He was that explosive.

“There are people who say that it is not possible, that he cannot be playing football.”

Wolves are 7th in the Premier League and are level on points with Tottenham Hotspur and 1 point behind 5th placed Manchester United. They are also 6 points behind Chelsea who sit 3rd on the league table.
