It’s no more news that Alexis Sanchez has failed to live up to the expected hype since joining Man United. It can be recalled that his move to Old Trafford filled the fans with excitement based on his antecedents at his previous club. However, it has been a different ball game at Man United.
The Chilean has a meager 4 Premier League goals to his name and United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjarer is reportedly eager to get rid of the attacker who also comes with a huge wage bill.
Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move to Serie A outfit Inter Milan who have already acquired Romelu Lukaku from the Red Devils.
However, the deal appears to have stalled although it seemed as though it was close to completion. The window has just a few days before it shuts and the Serie A outfit are refusing to pay the bigger portion of the player’s £391,000 weekly wages.
Man United do not want to pay the bigger of the sum as the player won’t be in their ranks, and the Chilean is understandably not willing to take a pay cut for a move to materialize quickly.
Therefore, it is highly likely that Alexis Sanchez may remain with Man United beyond the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, a report from The Times has revealed that he will only participate in the Europa League and Carabao Cup if he stays put at Old Trafford.
This will see him earning close to £400,000 every week for competitions that may not be a priority for the club. The decision is also not far from the fact that the Chilean also earns a staggering £75,000-per-week appearance fee on top of his weekly wages.
If he stays put, he will be in for a very long season as the likes of Marcus Rashford, new boy Daniel James, and Anthony Martial are currently above him in the pecking order under Solskjaer.
