Ashley Young rejects United’s contract extension offer
Ashley Young has turned down a one-year contract extension offer from Manchester United and is likely to leave Old Trafford this month according to Sky in Italy.
The 34-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer and United made the offer to fend off interest from Inter Milan as Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on the former winger turned fullback in his bid to strengthen his squad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep Ashley Young who is a key figure in the United dressing room. His versatility on the pitch is another reason why the Norwegian wants him to remain at Old Trafford.
Inter Milan are reportedly willing to offer Young an 18-month contract. It can be recalled that Young joined Man United from Aston Villa in 2011 and has made 261 appearances for the Red Devils since that time.
