Newly promoted Premier League side Aston Villa have made Egypt winger Mahmoud Trezeguet their ninth signing of the summer transfer window in a deal worth £8.75m.
Trezeguet, 24, who made just 4 appearances and scored 1 goal in the Africa Cup of Nations joins from Turkish club Kasimpasa.
Trezeguet began his career with Al Ahly in Egypt before making the move to Anderlecht in 2015, and later joining Kasimpasa in 2017.
Villa boss, Dean Smith spoke about the club’s newest recruit: “We’re really excited to work with ‘Trez’,”
“I’ve watched him a number of times. He’s the type of wide player that we have been looking for who is direct, causes problems for the opposition in the final third and scores goals.”
This addition means that Aston Villa have spent £100m on acquiring new players this summer. They are also hoping to complete the signing of Douglas Luiz from Manchester City for £15m.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have signed the following players since winning promotion to the Premier League in May.
They are: Ezri Konsa, 21, from Brentford for £12m; Bjorn Engels, 24, for £9m from Reims; Tyrone Mings, 26, from Bournemouth for £20m; Kortney Hause from Wolvesfor £3m and Matt Targett from Southampton for £15m.
