It has been revealed that Barcelona turned down a €65 million offer for Sergi Roberto last summer and decided to keep hold of the player despite numerous interests in the services of the utility man from many clubs.
Sergi Roberto, 28, had established himself as a key member of the squad at the time, with the club not willing to let him leave. However, according to Marca, this is no longer the case at the Camp Nou.
The Catalan giants are presently willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard, although the reports claimed that the player has not been informed of this development by the club.
During the weekend, Sport claimed that Juventus are interested in Roberto and that he could also be used as a makeweight in Barca’s move for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.
However, it remains to be seen if the player would be fascinated by a career outside Barcelona, seeing that he has been with the club since he was 14 in his initial move to La Masia. He’s one of the club’s four captains and has a contract with Barcelona until June 2022.
