Chelsea eye move for midfield monster

Chelsea are reportedly interested in the acquisition of highly-rated Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni according to a report from Goal.

The detailed report linked the 21-year-old midfielder with the Stamford Bridge outfit and also described him as a midfield monster after series of strong displays for the Ligue 1 outfit in recent times.

The player would fit the bill at Chelsea as the likes of Jorginho and Kovacic are not as energetic and hard-working as N’Golo Kante, and these are traits that Tchouameni can offer to the Blues if a deal materializes.

A move for him would enhance Thomas Tuchel’s further improvement of the team ahead of the 2021/22 football season.

Meanwhile, the report noted that the French midfielder who plays for the France Under-21 side could leave Monaco for a fee of £34million this summer, and this is a bargain for the talent the player possesses.

Thomas Tuchel has done a good job at Stamford Bridge since he replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s boss. He has guided the Blues to the final of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League where they’ll face domestic rivals Manchester City on May 29.

They’re also in good stead for a place in the top 4 and qualification to the UCL next season but must have a positive result against Aston Villa at Villa Park on the final Premier League matchday of the season.

Regardless, the German tactician will have seen that the Blues need further reinforcement in the summer and will be under no illusion that he has a perfect team that can successfully contend against the favorites for the Premier League title next season.
