Flamengo hero Gabigol was called Gabi-no-gol in Italy

Frank de Boer has revealed that Flamengo’s Gabigol was called Gabi-no-gol in his time with Inter Milan in the Serie A.

The Brazilian forward scored two late goals to ensure that Flamengo emerged victoriously over River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final at the weekend.

Gabigol is currently on loan to the Brazilian side from Inter Milan and his former manager has revealed the nickname he was given in Italy.

‘I didn’t know much about him, but they told me he was a fantastic player,’ De Boer told FOX Sports, as reported by Marca.

‘They call him Gabigol but we called him Gabi-no-gol.’

Gabigol scored 1 goal in 10 appearances for Inter Milan before the loan move to Flamengo where he has gone on to score 31 goals in 38 games.
