Hudson-Odoi admits he’s agitated by his current form
Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has spoken about his woes that have been limiting his impact at the club, admitting that his recent poor run of form has been affecting him. The 19-year-old has struggled with injuries in the last 12 months and this appears to have stalled his progress going by his performances this season.
He opened the scoring for the Blues after six minutes in the third round FA Cup 2 nil victory against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and revealed after the game that recent events have agitated him. In a chat with reporters after the game, Odoi said: ‘ I have been a bit agitated.
‘Thinking to myself that I have had chances and I need to convert more of them, be more clinical in front of goal, so in this game, I thought to myself, hit it low and hard.
‘Recently I have been thinking “be patient, the goal will come if you be yourself, be calm, everything will go your way”.
Regardless, Hudson-Odoi is hoping to cement a long-term place in Chelsea’s attacking line and also attract the attention of England manager Gareth Southgate for a regular place in the team. It can be recalled that Callum Hudson-Odoi was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich last season but Chelsea kept hold of their man. He added:
‘I am really happy that I got the goal and I am looking to build on it and keep going,’ Hudson-Odoi added.
‘But it is not just about the goal, it is about helping the team, working hard, keeping the ball, and overall I am happy with how everything went.’
