Serie A defending champions Inter Milan are reportedly keeping a close eye on Franck Kessie’s situation at AC Milan and could attempt to snatch him from the Rossoneri when his contract expires next year.
The Ivorian is contracted to AC Milan until June 2022 and after seeing the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma leave, they’ve made the extension of Kessie’s contract a priority.
According to Tuttosport., the former Atalanta midfielder is yet to reach an agreement with the club despite continuous discussions with the club concerning his future.
Milan are interested in closing a deal for the midfielder this summer to ensure that another complicated situation as in the case of Donnaumma and Calhanoglu does not occur.
Regardless, it was also noted that both parties (club and player) are very far apart in their offer and demand with Milan reported to have offered €3.8m to Kessie who earns €2.2m a season presently.
Kessie’s agent is reportedly holding out for €6m and Inter Milan are now monitoring the 24-year-old’s contract situation. If AC Milan fail in their bid to extend his contract, they may steal him from their city rivals in a year as they did with Hakan Calhanoglu.
However, Milan consider Kessie as an indispensable member of the team and would try their best to ensure that the Ivorian commits his future to the club.
