Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are considering a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek as a replacement for Arthur.
Arthur may likely leave at the end of January and the Old Ladies are interested in a low-cost solution and have identified Chelsea’s Loftus-Cheek.
The 25-year-old English midfielder has played 20 games this year for the Blue with 3 assists to his name but is yet to establish himself as a key player under Thomas Tuchel.
According to Sky Sport in Italy, the Old Ladies believe that the player’s technical qualities are top-notch and are weighing the possibility of signing him on a permanent deal later on a fair price as their budget is strict and limited.
If the deal does not materialize, they would go for Bruno Guimaraes of Lyon and Renato Sanches of Lille. However, the main problem with the two players is their transfer fees which are in the excess of £41.7million and this is an impossible price for the Serie A giants.
If a deal is completed, Loftus-Cheek would be drafted into Arthur’s role as the latter has chosen to leave Turin this month and plans to join Arsenal on a loan deal. The 25-year-old is willing to move but is waiting for the permission of Massimiliano Allegri.
Arthur earns around £4.7m-a-year and this would be paid in full by the North London outfit who are eager to land a player of his quality to improve their squad.
Juventus are interested in an outright sale of the player or can insert an obligation to buy clause once a loan has been completed. The Old Ladies would be looking to secure a deal for Loftus-Cheek before a departure of Arthur would be allowed.
Meanwhile, since Aaron Ramsey is now surplus to requirements, Allegri would look to the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Manuel Locatelli, Weston McKennie, Adrien Rabiot, and Federico Bernardeschi for midfield quality.
