According to reports in Italy, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will sign a long-term contract to keep him at Lazio before the month runs out.
The Serbian midfielder had an impressive 2017/18 season with Lazio in the Serie A, scoring 14 times and providing 9 assists in the course of the season.
This made him a highly sought-after target in the summer transfer window as he was linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito described Savic as the best young player in the world presently, insisting that he won’t leave Lazio for less than £100m.
Therefore, after keeping hold of the player beyond the summer window, Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the club are now confident of tying him down to a new long-term deal before September comes to a close.
The player played his part for Serbia in the Russia 2018 World Cup.
