Reports suggest that Liverpool held talks with Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi amid concrete interest from Bayern Munich as speculations continue over the player’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The young attacker has been a major target for the Bundesliga giants since the opening of the winter transfer window. The player has also refused to sign a new contract at Chelsea and may be set for a departure from the club.
The Bavarian giants have made bids with the latest being in the region of £35 million to force Chelsea’s hand into letting go of the talented teenager.
However, according to Sport Bild in Germany, a Premier League side is in the mix for Hudson Odoi’s signature and its Liverpool.
The Reds reportedly held talks with the Chelsea youngster earlier in January after meeting with the player and his agent who is also his brother Bradley Hudson-Odoi.
Regardless, the Blues want to keep their man and are willing to pay him £85,000 a week according to reports.
The player’s game time has increased since the interest from Bayern Munich heightened as he started the cup game against Nottingham Forest and also came off the bench against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.
Maurizio Sarri also outlined the youngster’s importance to the team recently, He said:
“I know only that for me he’s a very important player. He’s very young, but now he’s improving.
“I think to stay here is better for him. He’s an English player. He’s very young. He has the future. And I think he has a very great future here, in England, with the national team and with Chelsea.”
