The injuries are beginning to mount at the Camp Nou and another player joined the list in the course of his exertions for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday.
Barcelona winger Malcom was forced to leave the pitch in tears after he sprained his ankle during the Catalan’s 4:1 win over Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey.
He scored in the course of the game but was unable to complete the game due to the injury. He will be made to undergo some medical tests to ascertain the extent of the injury.
Malcom is yet to become a mainstay in the Barcelona and has struggled to establish himself under Ernesto Valverde since making the move from Bordeaux in the Ligue 1.
Valverde revealed why he had to take the player off after the injury. He said: “I think it is not a hard injury. I don’t know what exactly he has so I prefer to be prudent”.
It can be recalled that the likes of Luis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal, Arthur, and Sergi Roberto are on the sidelines for the club and the inclusion of Malcom is sure to deplete the squad further.
