Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe has arrived in London to undergo a medical and finalize personal terms ahead of his big-money move from Lille to Arsenal.
The Gunners have already agreed a £72m transfer fee with Lille for the attacker.
Nicolas Pepe, 24, is expected to be announced as Arsenal’s 4th summer signing following the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba who have already been confirmed.
Dani Ceballos joined on a loan deal from Real Madrid while defender William Saliba was sent back to St Etienne on loan for a season after sealing a move to the Emirates in a deal worth £27m.
This move means that the chase for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha is as good as over. It also raises questions on the credibility of the reports that suggested that Arsenal had only £45m to spend this summer after failing to make the UEFA Champions League.
Present events suggest the contrary as Arsenal have exceeded the amount and are still looking to make more additions. One of such additions in Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.
