Tottenham open talks with PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino

This is one speculation that should come as a shocker regardless of if it is true or not. A report has emerged from The Athletic that Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Mauricio Pochettino in a bid to re-hire the Argentine from Paris Saint-Germain.

It can be recalled that Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham over a year ago and moved on to join PSG in January as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel who is presently at Chelsea.

However, reports suggest that he is unhappy with the club hierarchy and would be open to a move away from the club.

In his short time as PSG boss, they won the French Super Cup and the Coupe de France but were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Manchester City and subsequently lost the 2020/21 Ligue 1 title to LOSC Lille.

It is the second time in 9 seasons that the Parisiens have failed to win the French title. Meanwhile, the managerial position at Spurs has been vacant since the departure of Jose Mourinho who replaced Pochettino.

The Portuguese manager was sacked in April after a run of poor results snd performances and was replaced with Ryan Mason on an interim basis.

Regardless, Pochettino has one year left on his contract with the Ligue 1 giants. He transformed Tottenham into a top-four side and also took them to the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019, but was sacked six months later.
