Two Celtic fans stabbed by masked men in Rome ahead of Lazio Europa clash

According to reports, two men believed to be Celtic fans have been hospitalized after being stabbed by masked men outside a bar in Rome. The two men were drinking at the Flann O’Brien pub ahead of Thursday’s Europa League encounter against Serie A side Lazio.

Both of them are believed to have been stabbed in the leg and the injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

Tensions are high after warnings that Lazio fans would seek revenge for a banner displayed by Celtic fans in the first leg of the group stage encounter in Glasgow.

The banner showed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini hung upside down and investigations have been launched into the incident.
