Former Manchester United star Ashley Young is close to a return to the Premier League and is nearing a return to Villa Park where he established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League.
It’s been 10 years since he left Aston Villa for a bigger adventure at Manchester United and then Inter Milan.
The England winger will leave Inter Milan at the expiration of his contract on June 30. A report from Calciomercato suggests that the 25-year-old will undergo a medical ahead of a free move to his former club.
Ashley Young played 190 games for Aston Villa between 2007 and 2011 before making the move to Manchester United.
He went on to join Inter Milan in Serie A for a deal worth €1.7m deal in January 2020 where he ended up winning one Serie A title under Antonio Conte in the 2020/21 season in his one-and-a-half year loan spell at the club.
He scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists in 59 games for the Nerazzurri and played his part in their first Scudetto in 11 years.
It can be recalled that he captained Manchester United in his last Premier League game for the club in December 2019 against Sean Dyche’s Burnley.
