England international Ross Barkley will not be participating in Everton’s pre-season trip, even as he is yet to sign a new contract with the Merseyside outfit. According to reports, a groin injury has kept Barkley out of the squad that has traveled to Tanzania
Regardless of the present development, the English man’s future at Goodison Park is nowhere near secure as he enters the last year of his presently running contract, and the club manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that Barkley will be sold out if he does not agree to the new terms being offered to him by the club.
Everton has been very active in the transfer window this summer as they’ve splashed the cash in acquiring new players as they prepare to mount a significant challenge for the top 4 places in the Premier League next season. The club has acquired 5 players with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Davy Klaassen inclusive, who can thrive in Ross Barkley’s playing positions at Everton.
Rooney and Klaassen will play their parts in the trip, as well as Michael Keane, although Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez continue their holidays after taking part in the European Under-21 Championship
Tottenham and Man United have been linked with Ross Barkley in numerous transfer speculations. The Englishman hit the back of the net 5 times and provided 9 assists in 36 Premier League games in the 2016/2017 season.
