The club’s debut season in La Liga was good enough as they established themselves. They achieved their highest-ever position, securing 13th place in the 2018/19 season.

They even made history, reaching the semifinals of the Copa del Rey in 2018.

In a stunning display of their qualities, they eliminated Real Madrid in the quarterfinals, impressively with a famous 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

3. Brentford

Brentford

While major trophies have slipped away from Brentford football club, their journey has been impressive.

The club’s origins trace back to their entry into the London League in 1896, where they were the runners-up in the Second Division and then the First Division.

Their performances got them a spot in the Southern League in 1898.

Brentford’s impressive performance continued with their victory in the Southern League Second Division in 1900-01, which secured them into the Football League in 1920.

The club was rewarded when they won the Third Division South title in the 1932-33 season and the Second Division title in 1934-35.

However, during their spell in the top flight, Brentford experienced a golden era, achieving a historic fifth-place finish in the First Division in 1935-36, their highest-ever league position.

Fast forward, the club endured 14 seasons in the Third Division, ultimately triumphing with the Third Division title in 1991-92.

Then again, relegation struck them in 1993. Still, they were so determined as they earned a promotion as champions in the 1998-99 campaign.

Over the years, Brentford has faced heartbreak in finals, finishing as runners-up in three Football League Trophy finals and four playoff final losses.

Again. They secured a spot in the Europa League group stage. And their group featured the likes of Borussia Dortmund, PAOK, and Gabala.
