Bale set to become world’s highest paid footballer in China move

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale is set to leave the Bernabeu this summer as boss Zinedine Zidane confirmed after Sunday’s 3:1 preseason defeat to Bayern Munich. The Frenchman revealed that Madrid were working on Bale’s exit from the club.

According to The Sun, Beijing Gouan have made an offer for the Welshman that would make him the highest-paid footballer in the world.

The reportedly proposed £1 million per week, tax-free wage package will surpass that of Lionel Messi at Barcelona who is currently earning around £900,000 per week.

Gareth Bale currently earns £600,000 a week in Madrid, having paid his dues at the club by helping them emerge victoriously in 4 UEFA Champions League competitions since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 in a former world record deal.

China’s transfer deadline is on 31 July. Meanwhile, the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain could yet make moves to sign the 30-year-old Welshman.
